Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients in a telemetry setting, with a focus on monitoring and managing those with complex medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care in accordance with established protocols and standards.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any changes in their condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Document patient care and interactions using the Epic system.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient care plans.
  • Float to other units as needed and work on a Storm Team or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events.

Qualifications

  • BLS certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical or Telemetry nursing required.
  • Charge experience is preferred.
  • First-time travelers are welcomed to apply.
  • Ability to float to various units based on patient care needs.

Contract Details

  • Shifts: 12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15).
  • 36 or 48-hour contracts accepted; longer contracts (13-26 weeks) are also available.
  • Expected to work every other weekend.
  • Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:5-6.
  • Limited to 7 days of Request Time Off (RTO) during the contract.

Orientation

All travelers will attend a 24-hour unit orientation followed by hospital orientation during the first week, with daily classes available.

Uniform

Scrubs should be navy blue.

Additional Notes

  • All contract staff must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.
  • Local candidates are accepted at the local rate.
