Description

Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: September 28, 2026

Location: Coastal North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, 36 or 48 hours per week. Patient ratio 1:6. Every other weekend required. Self-scheduling available.

Highlights:

  • 13-20 week contract assignments available with comprehensive orientation (24 hours)
  • Med-Surg/Telemetry unit with diverse patient population including surgical recovery, cardiac, renal, and respiratory cases
  • Remote telemetry monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Advanced skills utilization including central lines, PICC management, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, wound vac, and blood product administration
  • Epic charting system with interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams, respiratory services, and pharmacy
  • Up to 7 days of pre-approved time off per contract (no RTO during first week or holidays)

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of acute care Med-Surg or Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required
  • Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
  • BLS and NIHSS certification required; ACLS and Telemetry certification strongly preferred
  • Must successfully complete EKG competency testing prior to start date
  • Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, central line care, respiratory management, and wound care
  • Ability to work holidays (must work 2 of 3 major holidays)
  • Flexibility to float to other facility locations as needed (up to 32 minutes away)
  • Annual flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
  • Willingness to serve on Storm Team/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events or disasters
