Med-Surg Telemetry RN Job Requirements

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of professional Registered Nurse experience; 2 years of medical-surgical/telemetry nursing experience preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Cardiac dysrhythmia training and demonstrated telemetry monitoring competency
• Ability to work scheduled night shifts in an on-site hospital setting

Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Care for patients with conditions including congestive heart failure, pneumonia, chest pain, COPD, gastrointestinal bleeding, bowel obstructions, alcohol use disorder, and post-operative needs
• Administer medications and treatments safely while evaluating patient responses
• Perform focused and comprehensive nursing assessments, develop individualized care plans, and document patient progress
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to support safe transitions and positive patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge plans
