Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a telemetry unit specializing in acute cardiac care. The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients, specifically those with complex cardiac conditions and post-operative needs.

Shift Details

• Options for 36 or 48-hour contracts
• Night shifts, 7 PM to 7 AM, with rotations including weekdays and every other weekend
• Floating among units may be required to meet facility needs
• Must accommodate at least one major holiday off request during the holiday season

Unit Information

The telemetry unit features 39 beds and handles a dual patient load of inpatient and observation cases, with an average patient turnover of 36 hours or less. The RN will manage a patient ratio of typically 5:1, which may increase to 6 or 7:1 during high-demand periods.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Experience with telemetry and IV start preferred
• Familiarity with specific treatments and procedures such as cardioversion, thoracentesis, central line insertion, and various cardiac drips is an advantage
• West Virginia or Compact RN License required (pending licenses can be considered)

Essential Skills

• Proficient in administering and monitoring heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, and nitroglycerin drips
• Experienced in post-cardiac catheterization and angiogram care
• Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills

Additional Information

• Orientation and start date conducted biweekly on Thursdays
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
