Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: MS/Tele/Oncology Duration: 6 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Epic Experience Telemetry Experience Trach and PEG Care Foley Care Central Line Management Medication Administration Patient Assessments Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care in a telemetry unit. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar setting. Basic dysrhythmia knowledge is required, with a passing rate of 83%. Candidates will have three attempts to pass. Call-outs are discouraged and may lead to termination. Familiarity with Epic is essential for this position. The unit accommodates patients with a variety of diagnoses including COPD, sepsis, and various types of cancer. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:5. Charge nurses may take an assignment. There are nurse aides on the unit with a ratio of 1:15. Self-scheduling is available with block scheduling allowed. Weekend requirements are 8-9 shifts every 6 weeks. Major holiday requirements include 2 for major holidays and 1 for a minor holiday. Floating is required and may occur between campuses located nearby. The dress code mandates navy scrubs, with optional navy scrub jackets. Unit-specific orientation will be provided. Experience in oncology is helpful but not required.
