Med/Surg Tele RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med/Surg Tele Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Night and Day Rotating Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year permanent experience in specialty required License: Permanent Ohio license or compact license in hand required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 12 months permanent experience in the applying specialty - Active required certifications in hand at time of submission - Reference from a manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty required Description: This position involves working with adult patients in a medical-surgical tele unit. The role requires the ability to provide excellent patient care. Nurses may also float to care for similar patient populations as needed. Shifts may include varying hours based on operational needs. Travelers must be available to work every other holiday. An ECG rhythm recognition test and medication safety assessment will be conducted during the orientation. An acceptable score on both assessments is necessary to continue in the position. Candidates must not have any open background cases. Nurses and certified surgical technologists are exempt from nicotine-free requirements. Candidates are required to complete a drug screening prior to starting. Continuous contracts allow for extensions, as defined by the facility. Ongoing competency requirements must also be met to maintain compliance. Training modules will be provided as part of the ongoing education process.
