    Opportunity:

    RN - Med Surg/Tele

    Job Details:

    • Night shift position working 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
    • Weekend and holiday rotations required based on operational need
    • Patient ratios: 4:1 on days, 5:1 on nights
    • Floating required between inpatient units as needed
    • No on-call requirements
    • Care for adult and geriatric patients with a mix of medical and surgical diagnoses including pneumonia, diabetes, infection, hypertension, chest pain, heart failure, alcohol withdrawal, joint replacements, neuro spine, bariatric, and more
    • Manage drips including insulin, heparin, and PCA
    • Perform wound VAC care and use of lifts and polar cares
    • Read and interpret telemetry strips independently
    • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and multidisciplinary plan of care development
    • Fast-paced environment with high volume of admissions and discharges daily
    • Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with a passing score of 80% or higher, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms
    • Minimum 2 years of acute care Med Surg/Tele experience within the last 3 years required
    • Epic charting experience required
    • AHA BLS certification required
    • Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license required
    • Travelers must be located more than 50 miles from the facility; locals not accepted

The 4th floor inpatient unit is a fast-paced, 28-bed medical surgical unit operating within a Magnet designated hospital. The facility is supported by state-of-the-art technology, evidence-based practice, and a strong interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams.
