Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Madison, Wisconsin.

Opportunity:
RN - Med Surg/Tele
Job Details:
• Day/Night rotating 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend rotation with holidays as needed
• Day/Night rotators will not be scheduled to flip between days and nights more than 2 times in a 6-week scheduling period unless an exception is made at the employee's request
• Minimum 36 hours off required between the end of a scheduled night shift and the beginning of a scheduled day shift for patient care
• 2 years of acute care experience required within the last 3 years in the specialty
• Experience starting IVs required
• Active RN license required
• BLS certification required - AHA only
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Must pass a Telemetry exam prior to start with a passing score of 80% or higher, with up to two attempts allowed
• Telemetry exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms including ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and asystole
• Travelers are required to float as needed
• Care for adult med/surg patients with a variety of conditions and diagnoses under the Family Medicine service, including a geriatric population
• Unit includes a locked wing for Department of Corrections patients; staff are always accompanied by a DOC officer while assisting these patients
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, central line blood draw, feeding tube care, heparin and insulin management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, wound care/wound vac, PICC line management, PCA, substance withdrawal, and surgical drains
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy

The facility operates a 25-room med/surg and telemetry unit with a daily census of approximately 20 patients and offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support services. The unit features a specialized locked wing for Department of Corrections patients and is supported by a robust team of healthcare professionals across multiple disciplines.
