    Opportunity:

    RN - Med Surg/Tele

    Job Details:

    • Evening/Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
    • Weekend and holiday rotations based on operational need
    • Patient ratio of 6 patients on weekends
    • Floating to other units or downtown campus required as needed
    • Minimum of two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years required
    • Epic charting system experience required
    • Community hospital experience preferred
    • WI RN or compact RN license required
    • BLS required - AHA only
    • Must pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (two attempts allowed with strict passing criteria)
    • Adult Telemetry Exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms, no incorrect answers on 3rd degree heart block questions, and a passing score of 80% or higher
    • Pediatric Telemetry Exam requires identification of ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia with a passing score of 80% or higher
    • Provide care for adult and geriatric patient populations
    • Care for patients with diagnoses including COPD, heart failure, hypertension, diabetes, infections, and mental status changes
    • Manage drips including insulin, heparin, and PCA
    • Support post-operative patients including bariatric, orthopedic, neurosurgical, and general surgical cases
    • Utilize skills including telemetry monitoring, wound care/wound vac, central line blood draws, PICC line management, phlebotomy, and IV management
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams

The 5th floor inpatient unit is a fast-paced, 28-bed medical surgical unit that operates within a collaborative environment featuring state-of-the-art technology, evidence-based practice, and a strong interdisciplinary team.
