Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Madison, Wisconsin.

Opportunity:
RN - Med Surg/Tele
Job Details:
• Day/Night rotating 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend rotation and holidays as needed
• Day/Night rotators will not be scheduled to flip between days and nights more than 2 times in a 6-week scheduling period unless requested by employee
• Minimum 36 hours off required between the end of a scheduled night shift and the beginning of a scheduled day shift for patient care
• Travelers are required to float as needed
• 2 years of acute care experience in specialty required within the last 3 years
• Experience starting IVs required
• RN license required
• BLS required - AHA only
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Must pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start - traveler will have two attempts to pass with a passing score of 80% or higher
• Adult Telemetry Exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms including ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and asystole, with no incorrect answers on questions regarding 3rd degree heart blocks
• Pediatric Telemetry Exam covers ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia with a passing score of 80% or higher
• Care for adult med/surg patients with a variety of conditions and diagnoses under the Family Medicine service, including geriatric population
• Unit includes a locked wing for Department of Corrections patients; staff are always accompanied by a DOC officer when assisting these patients
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, central line blood draws, feeding tube care and management, heparin, insulin, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula and oxygen administration, PCA, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, substance withdrawal, surgical drains, telemetry, wound care/wound vac, and previous law enforcement patient care
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
• Self-scheduling unit with a daily census of 20 and 25 rooms
• Locals within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
