    Opportunity:

    RN - Med Surg/Tele

    Job Details:

    • Day/Night rotating 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
    • Every other weekend rotation with holidays as needed
    • Day/Night rotators will not be scheduled to flip between days and nights more than 2 times in a 6-week scheduling period unless requested by employee
    • 36 hours off guaranteed between the end of a scheduled night shift and the beginning of a scheduled day shift for patient care
    • Self-scheduling
    • Travelers are required to float as needed
    • 2 years of acute care experience in specialty required within the last 3 years
    • Experience starting IVs required
    • RN license required
    • BLS required - AHA only
    • EPIC experience required
    • Telemetry exam must be passed prior to start with a passing score of 80% or higher - traveler has two attempts to pass
    • Care for adult med/surg patients with a variety of conditions and diagnoses under the Family Medicine service, including geriatric population
    • Unit includes a locked wing for Department of Corrections patients - staff are always accompanied by a DOC officer while assisting these patients
    • Daily census of 20 patients across 25 rooms
    • Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
    • Required skills include: telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, central line blood draw, PICC line management, heparin, insulin, wound care/wound vac, PCA, feeding tube care and management, and substance withdrawal

The unit operates with a daily census of 20 patients across 25 rooms and serves a diverse patient population including adult med/surg and geriatric patients.
