Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med/Surg/Neuro/Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of six months to three years of nursing experience, with direct experience in telemetry patients and cardiac medications. License: Current RN license in Client Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Experience in reading rhythm strips and managing post-stroke patients. Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. Responsibilities include the prevention of illness and injury, and alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN advocates for the care of individuals and families. The position requires compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. Key responsibilities include: Assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a group of patients. Serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment. Educating patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. Administering medications safely and in accordance with policies. Participating in productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, supplies, and services. Complying with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements. Engaging in professional development and completing all mandatory education requirements. Integrating nursing research and current evidence into practice. Providing a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Performing other duties as assigned. Required skills include collaboration, communication (verbal and written), judgment/critical thinking, organizational understanding, planning, problem-solving, quality assurance, reliability, and safety/risk management. Preferred skills include prior clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting. Education requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing school. A Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is preferred. Professional certification in a related nursing specialty is a plus. Relevant skills certification (such as ACLS, PALS, TNCC) may be required by the assigned unit.
