Requirements

• 2+ years RN experience
• NIH preferred
• Swallow Screen preferred
• Neuro experience ideal
• Must be competent in dysrhythmia
• Must pass dysrhythmia and dosage calculation tests during orientation
• Must be available for holidays as scheduled

Required/Preferred Skills

• Neuro/med-surg experience
• NIH assessment
• Swallow screening
• Dysrhythmia recognition/management
• Medication dosage calculations
• Experience caring for adult patients

Common Patient Diagnoses

• CVA/stroke
• TIA
• Seizures
• Inability to ambulate
• Urinary conditions
• Respiratory conditions
• Occasional cardiac patients

Unit Details

• 22 beds
• Neuro Med Surg – 8 Rose
• Level I Trauma
• EPIC
• Patient ratio: 1:6, up to 1:7 with ED holds
• Mindray vital signs
• GE EKG
• Cardiac monitors

Schedule

• 36 guaranteed hours/week
• 2 of 4 weekends, or 4 of 8 weekend shifts

• Straight-weekend option available
