The role involves delivering care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Coordination with other health team members is essential. High standards of professional nursing should be maintained while interacting with patients and significant others. The position requires high-quality care delivery to various patient populations, including geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, psychiatric, and telemetry. Telemetry ratios are currently 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights. Medical/Surgical ratios are currently 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights. The candidate will float to non-critical care inpatient units as needed, including behavioral health and emergency department if there are boarded patients. Travelers may be floated to critical care units if they have critical care experience. While not part of a regular call rotation, travelers may occasionally be placed on call during times of low census. If called in, the traveler is expected to respond and arrive on site within one hour.
