The nurse will work on a 26-bed orthopedic spine unit. Patient care will consist of individuals recovering from spinal surgeries such as laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies. The unit emphasizes integrated pain management, physical therapy, and mobility support. Patient diagnoses include medical-surgical, telemetry, cardiac conditions, and other related issues. The nurse will be responsible for managing a patient ratio of 1:5-6. Floating to other units may be required on occasion based on unit needs. Candidates must have experience with the EPIC charting system. Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are required for this position. Orthopedic experience is essential for successful candidates. The position may require participation in additional procedures such as bedside lumbar punctures and post-surgical care. Support services available include IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. This role aims to provide high-quality patient care in a collaborative environment.
