Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Telemetry – Wisconsin

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Schedule: 12-hour shifts between 0700-2330 (primary shift 0700-1930), day and evening rotation, every other weekend and holidays as needed

- Fast-paced environment caring for adults and geriatric patients with complex medical diagnoses including infectious diseases and special pathogens
- EPIC charting system with 20 hours of orientation provided
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
- Float to similar units as needed; professional development in a teaching hospital environment
- Daily census of 28-29 patients with robust teamwork and collaborative care model
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license
- Minimum of two years acute care experience within the last three years
- EPIC electronic medical record experience required
- BLS certification (AHA only) required
- Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (strict passing criteria including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and 80% overall score)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Must reside 50+ miles from the facility
- Skills required: telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, IV insulin protocols and titration, isolation precautions, and utilization of rapid response/code teams
