Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse – Wisconsin

Schedule: Day/Night rotation, 12-hour shifts (0700-1930 and 1900-0730) with every other weekend rotation and holidays as needed. Rotators will not be scheduled to flip between days/nights more than 2 times in a 6-week scheduling period, with 36 hours off between night-to-day transitions for patient care shifts.
Highlights:
- Adult medical-surgical and telemetry unit serving a geriatric population with a variety of conditions under Family Medicine service
- Daily census of approximately 20 patients in a 25-room unit
- EPIC charting system utilized facility-wide
- Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, and more
- Unit includes a specialized locked wing for Department of Corrections patients, with DOC officers present during patient care
- Magnet-designated facility recognized as a leading teaching institution and referral center
Requirements:
- Active RN license
- BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in medical-surgical or telemetry specialty
- Demonstrated experience starting and maintaining IVs
- EPIC charting experience required
- Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start date (strict passing criteria apply, including 100% accuracy on lethal rhythms and 80% overall score)
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, central line management, PICC lines, wound care, insulin and heparin administration, and isolation precautions
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Willingness to float as needed
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
