Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse – Wisconsin

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day and Night rotation: 0700-1930 and 1900-0730), every other weekend rotation, and holidays as needed
Highlights:
- 25-bed medical-surgical telemetry unit with an average daily census of 20 patients
- Adult and geriatric patient population with a variety of medical-surgical conditions and diagnoses under Family Medicine service
- Epic charting system utilized throughout the facility
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more

- Specialized experience with Department of Corrections patient care; secure wing with DOC officer accompaniment provided
Requirements:
- Active RN license
- BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in medical-surgical or telemetry specialty
- Proficiency with Epic EMR system required
- Demonstrated competency in starting and maintaining IVs
- Must pass telemetry competency examination prior to start date (strict passing criteria apply)
- Core skills required: telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias, central line management, PICC line care, wound care/wound vac, PCA pumps, heparin and insulin administration, feeding tube management, and isolation precautions
- Previous experience with law enforcement/corrections patient care preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Candidates must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
- Willingness to float to other units as needed
