Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking qualified Medical Surgical Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team. Candidates must be able to work 12-hour shifts with a schedule of either 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM, including every other weekend and holiday. Please note that there will be no requests for time off (RTO) accepted.

Unit Information

Nurses will mainly float between Medical Surgical and Telemetry units. As an essential part of the nursing team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient status and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families on health management and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Patient Ratios

During day shifts (7 AM to 11 PM), the nurse-to-patient ratio will be 5:1 for Medical Surgical and 4:1 for Telemetry. For night shifts (11 PM to 7 AM), the ratios will be 6:1 for Medical Surgical and 5:1 for Telemetry.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing.
• Strong clinical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills and commitment to patient care.

Scheduling

This position involves self-scheduling; however, it is important to note that scheduling will be balanced by management, and travelers will typically be placed in open shifts. Special scheduling requests will be considered when possible.
