Med Ninjas is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Des Moines, Iowa.
Job Summary (List Format):
- Position: Med Surg / Med Surg Tele Registered Nurse (Travel)
- Location: Must live at least 50 miles from facility (Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, Iowa Methodist campuses); no local candidates
- Interview Process: Phone call or text from a 405 area code
- Separation Policy: Past UPH employees (FTE or PRN) cannot work travel in any UPH market within 12 months; does not apply to prior UPH travel staff
- Orientation Dates: 11/23, 12/7, 12/23
- Contract: Initial 13 weeks, department prefers candidates willing to extend
- Work Hours:
- Standard 36-40 hrs/week (OT after 40 hrs)
- Optional 48 hrs/week (OT after 48 hrs)
- No blocked shifts
- Unit Details:
- Patient Types: Med Surg, post-op ortho (hips/knees)
- Patient Ratios: 4-5:1
- Bed Size: 24
- Drips: Heparin only
- Telemetry monitored remotely
- Required to float across all campuses
- Scrubs: Navy blue, solid color
- Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 24 months recent Med Surg/Med Surg Tele experience
- EPIC EMR experience
- Recent/current charge nurse experience
- First time travelers accepted
- Submission Requirements:
- Updated resume with 24 months Med Surg/Med Surg Tele experience
- Discipline-specific Skills Checklist
- Active Iowa or Compact/Multistate RN license (at submission)
- AHA or ARC BLS certification
- Driver’s license copy
- Professional reference preferred (from charge/supervisor/manager within last 24 months)
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- Licensure:
- Active Iowa RN license or Compact/Multistate license
