Cardiovascular Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

A position is available for a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiology, working night shifts. This role involves providing exceptional patient care within a telemetry environment.

Position Details

  • Unit: T3 Cardio
  • Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 (3x12-hour shifts)
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
  • Call Requirements: None

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess telemetry patients, managing cardiac drips and titration.
  • Provide post-operative care for cardiac catheterization patients and manage dysrhythmias.
  • Interpret and document EKG findings and clinical data.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Patient Care

The unit consists of 37 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4-5. The primary patient population includes individuals experiencing:

  • Stroke
  • Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
  • Atrial Fibrillation (A-fib)
  • Arrhythmias
  • Post-cardiac catheterization and stent procedures

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2-3 years in telemetry nursing.
  • Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, with Cerner experience.
  • Preferred Skills: Management of cardiac drips, interpretation of dysrhythmias.
  • Education: Current and valid nursing degree from an accredited program.

Equipment and Technology

Familiarity with the following equipment is essential:

  • Sigma Spectrum IV pumps
  • Ceiling and portable hoyer lifts
  • Portable cardiac monitoring devices
  • Defibrillators
  • EKG machines

Electronic Health Record systems: Omnicell and EPIC.

Scrub Color: Navy Blue
