- Ability to float to various units as needed
Description:
Travelers are first to float and must be prepared to float frequently.
This is a 20-bed general medical-surgical and telemetry unit.
Patients may include total knee and hip replacements, orthopedic cases, pulmonary, sepsis, GI, endocrine, cardiac, renal, and psychiatric illnesses.
Nurse-patient ratios are typically 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with some flexibility based on staffing.
Night ratios may occasionally reach 1:7, and floating to other units may occur with appropriate notice.
The unit may have complex discharges where night ratios can reach 1:10.
RNs will be assigned patients for weekly assessments, vital checks, labs, etc., with support from care techs and other clinicians.

Travelers are required to work 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible shifts in a four-week period.
Travelers must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.
Additional requests for time off may be limited and require manager approval.
Travelers must wear designated scrubs with the facility logo.
Documentation must be completed promptly to meet facility requirements.
This unit offers interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more.
Patient diagnoses include a wide range of medical surgical and telemetry needs.
Candidates should have experience with relevant skills such as blood product administration, central line care, and telemetry monitoring.
Candidates must also be adept at managing drips and interpreting dysrhythmias.
This role involves participation in rapid response and code teams as necessary.
