Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This position requires floating to various Med/Surg Telemetry units throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in cardiac monitoring and the ability to interpret telemetry strips.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to patients across multiple units, including but not limited to Med/Surg Tele areas.
• Perform cardiac monitoring, manage cardiac drips, and interpret telemetry strips at scheduled intervals.
• Assist in caring for patients in the emergency department and acute mental health unit.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Manage patient assignments and deliver care in compliance with established protocols and standards.

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN License.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Experience working as a traveling nurse is preferred.

Patient Care and Environment

• Caring for ED border patients and medication administration in the acute mental health unit.
• Treating non-vented patients who are transfer-ready in the ICU.
• Clinician to patient ratios may vary; up to 5:1 during days and evenings, and up to 6:1 at night.

Additional Information

• This position requires flexibility and willingness to float among 8 different units.
• Utilization of the electronic medical record system EPIC for documentation.
• The role involves rotation between day, evening, and night shifts as per departmental requirements.

Work Environment

• Free on-site parking available for employees.
• The facility has a total bed count of 371 with varying unit census ranging from 8 to 41 beds.
