Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Surgical Registered Nurse to join our team. The position requires a commitment to night shifts, specifically 3x12 hours from 7 PM to 7 AM. Holiday work is required, with specific obligations on Thanksgiving and either Christmas or Christmas Eve, depending on unit needs. The nurse will be expected to manage a patient ratio of 1:6 in a 54-bed unit, with every other weekend required.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate proficiency in IV start skills and manage cardiac drips.
• Float within scope to meet facility needs as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience required.
• Current South Carolina license or compact license in hand prior to start date.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Experience managing telemetry patients and cardiac medications preferred.

Additional Information

The facility utilizes Epic for charting and has a scrub color of royal blue. Complimentary parking is available in any unrestricted space. Please note that during hurricane season, all staff may participate in emergency response teams, and travelers should avoid confirming new assignments during this period.

Scheduling

While block schedules can be requested, approval is not guaranteed. All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application.

This role is situated in an acute care environment with a total of 119 staffed beds, providing an opportunity to make a significant impact on patient care in a dynamic setting.
