Description

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (Medical Telemetry) – Pennsylvania

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Pennsylvania

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every third weekend required; floating between two units based on operational needs; no on-call responsibilities; no block scheduling available; 1 summer and 1 winter holiday required

Highlights:
  • 39-bed medical telemetry unit caring for diverse patient populations including Hospital Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, and Maternal Fetal Medicine patients
  • Patient ratios of 4-5 patients per nurse with a daily census of approximately 36
  • Extensive clinical experience with complex medical conditions including substance use withdrawal management, behavioral health needs, GI/respiratory/sepsis management, and stable ventilator-dependent patients
  • Advanced respiratory therapies including mid-flow, high-flow (Optiflow), and CPAP management with established care protocols
  • Electronic charting via EPIC system with virtual nursing support for patient education and staff workflow assistance
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary team support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams
  • 12-hour orientation provided; first-time travelers welcome
Requirements:
  • Valid Pennsylvania RN license or multi-state compact license
  • Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience required
  • Active telemetry monitoring experience required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • EPIC charting system experience required
  • BSN preferred; ASN accepted
  • Demonstrated competency in cardiac telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, central line care, blood product administration, and ventilated patient care
  • Experience with specialty skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, high-flow nasal cannula, heparin and IV insulin protocols, PCA pumps, wound care, tracheostomy care, and cardiac drip management
  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions available); COVID-19 vaccine not required
  • Pennsylvania state fingerprinting and background clearance required prior to start
