Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position requires a strong background in telemetry and the ability to read tele strips effectively.

Unit Overview:

• Unit Name: Phippen 6/7
• Bed Count: 32 Beds (16 in Phippen 6 and 16 in Phippen 7)
• Patient Population: Scheduled elective orthopedic and neuro/surgical patients, fractures, neuro patients, and all other medical overflow.
• Census: 32 Total Beds.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a single location.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Traveler.
• Ability to float to applicable units as requested.
• Rotating shifts may be required, though night positions will not rotate.

Skills and Competencies:

• Med/Surg RN with neuro assessment skills.
• Telemetry competency with the ability to interpret telemetry strips.
• Clinician to patient ratio: 1:4 during day and evening shifts (may go up to 5), and 1:5 or 6 on night shifts.

Charting System: EPIC

Certifications Required:

• Current RN License in Massachusetts.
• AHA BLS certification.
• ACLS certification is preferred.
