Description:
The unit has a total of 96 beds.
Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-6.
Required certifications include BLS and NIHSS.
A valid license is necessary for submission.
Candidates must have at least 1 year of telemetry experience.
Nurses are required to titrate drips as needed.
Common titratable and set rate drips include Heparin.
Charge nurses and house supervisors are present on the unit.
Nurse aides are available, with a ratio of 1:8-16.
All beds are telemetry capable.
Monitor techs are available on the unit.
Registered nurses validate, read, and document on telemetry strips.
Shift scheduling is for 12 hours during the night from 7 PM to 7 AM.
Weekend requirements are based on unit needs and demands.
Holidays will require availability for 2 out of 3 major holidays.
There is no call or standby requirement, but it may be needed based on census.
All registered nurses may float within their scope as required by staffing needs.
The dress code consists of navy tops and bottoms.
Unit-specific orientation is coordinated with the onboarding process.
