Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Float Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years required License: Active Registered Nurse license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Must be flexible with scheduling and floating between units Description: Travelers are required to work all scheduled shifts. Holidays will be assigned based on a set schedule. No requests for time off during major holidays will be accommodated. Patient ratios will typically be 1:4-5. Experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units is required. Candidates must have strong skills in orthopedics and neuro-stroke. Floating across acute care and telemetry units is an expectation. Travelers must demonstrate good time management skills. Charting will be done using the Epic system. Experience with peripheral nerve catheters is preferred. The patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Staffing includes interdisciplinary support from various services. Candidates must submit the required references upon application. Mandatory certifications must be current prior to assignment. Floating will include a mix of duties, depending on patient needs. Candidates must pass a fill-in-the-blank test related to telemetry skills. Preference will be given to those with prior charge experience in similar settings. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a diverse environment are essential. Travel experience is necessary for this role.
