Registered Nurse (RN) - Rehabilitation Med/Surg

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Rehabilitation Medical-Surgical to provide high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively within a dedicated healthcare team to facilitate the recovery of patients following surgery, serious illness, or injury.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients, ensuring the delivery of holistic care.
• Participate in patient and family education to support recovery and health management.
• Work cooperatively with ancillary nursing and healthcare team members to maintain professional nursing standards.
• Provide leadership as needed, which may include serving as a backup charge nurse.
• Be willing to float to other units when required, within the scope of practice.

Shift and Requirements

• 12-hour night shifts, with a guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Every other weekend and holidays as needed are required.
• Must be willing to work additional shifts during high-demand holiday periods, including Thanksgiving and Christmas.
• Travellers must have their own vehicle, as public transport is unavailable in the community.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Med Surg and Rehabilitation nursing.
• Previous travel nursing experience of at least 3 months is essential.
• Charge nurse experience is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred.
• Active RN license in Vermont or compact state.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Ability to document work history and skills checklist relevant to Medical-Surgical nursing.
• Willingness to submit a supervisory reference from recent employment.
