TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Quincy, Illinois, 62301!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: EPIC experience, total joint experience, understanding of PCA pumps, reversal drugs, sepsis management, and experience with TPN/Lipids. Description: Attention: 4 hours of billable computer modules are required before the start. Modules are delivered Monday and Tuesday of the week prior to start. The 4 hours should be added to the first week's timesheet. Local clinicians are accepted. The unit specializes in inpatient surgical care. There are 48 beds available. Nurse to patient ratios on nights are typically 1:5-6. LPNs are available, along with virtual admission and discharge nurses to assist. A primary care nursing model is frequently used. Common diagnoses include neuro-laminectomy, cervical fusion, and various surgical interventions. Experience with chronic pain management and understanding of narcotic usage is essential. Nurses are required to interpret telemetry strips, although a telemetry monitor tech is available. Charge nurses may assist with patient care during night shifts. Patient care assistants are available, though they may be pulled for other duties. Shifts are scheduled for 12 hours, beginning at 7 PM. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Nurses may float to similar units only, without taking a full patient load. The work environment is fast-paced, with 8-12 surgical admissions per day. Additional experience with managing titrated drips and chronic care is preferred.
