Description:
Responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance.
A basic dysrhythmia test will be given during the first week of assignment.
This test must be passed in order to work on the telemetry/med surg unit.
Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
Coordinates care with other health team members.
Effectively interacts with patients and significant others while maintaining high standards of professional nursing.
Provides high-quality care to patient populations including geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, and telemetry.
Candidates may be required to float to different locations.
While not part of a regular call rotation, travelers may occasionally be placed on call during periods of low census.
If called in, travelers are expected to respond and arrive on-site within one hour.
Telemetry ratios are currently 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights.
Floating to non-critical care inpatient units is always required, including to emergency departments if there are boarded patients.
Self-study of telemetry strips is necessary prior to working on the telemetry/med surg unit.
Passing the Basic Dysrhythmia test is mandatory.
