Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Adaptive Acuity Unit – Vermont
Start Date: November 1, 2026
Location: Vermont
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio on 25-bed unit; every other weekend required; holiday availability required (must work two designated holiday blocks if scheduled); floating to other inpatient units within scope of practice may be required
Highlights:
- Adaptive acuity unit with occasional Progressive Care Unit (PCU) assignments at 3:1 ratio
- Charge nurse responsibilities required throughout assignment
- Drip experience mandatory, including insulin, esmolol, and sodium drips
- Minimum 13-week contract with limited time-off availability (maximum 5 days RTO; must be submitted at time of application)
- Requires active Vermont RN license or Compact license
- Overtime available at regular rate; charge differential of $3/hour
Requirements:
- Vermont RN License or active Compact license
- Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2+ years of current Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience required
- Charge nurse experience required
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience strongly required
- Drip experience (insulin, esmolol, sodium) required
- ICU experience strongly preferred
- Minimum 3 months previous travel nursing experience required (non-negotiable)
- Small critical access facility experience preferred
- Current Med Surg, Telemetry, and PCU skills checklists (within 1 year)
- One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years
- Reliable personal transportation required
