Med-Surg/Telemetry RN – Day Shift

Shift: 12-hour days
Weekends: Every other weekend
Floating: Required as needed
Setting: Adult inpatient Med-Surg/Telemetry

Unit Details

This is an adult Med-Surg/Telemetry floor. Despite the unit’s current name, it does not provide pediatric care. Most orthopedic patients are now cared for on a separate dedicated floor.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor adult Med-Surg/Telemetry patients
• Interpret telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac rhythms
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans
• Administer medications and prescribed treatments
• Evaluate patient response and adjust interventions as needed
• Identify and respond promptly to changes in clinical condition
• Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients, families and caregivers
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Float to appropriate units based on staffing needs and clinical competency
