Description:
These needs are specifically for winter coverage for one 10-week contract only.
Local radius restrictions are waived for this assignment.
Must start by the specified date.
No holiday time off is permitted.
No more than 5 days of requested time off is allowed.
This position is for a Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Nurse.
The nurse will work a 3x12 night shift schedule.
The unit consists of 34 beds.
The nurse is required to have a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Epic experience is necessary for this role.
The nurse will work every other weekend and on holidays as needed.
Floating to other units may be required.
The facility is a short-term acute care hospital.
Total staffed beds in the facility are 426.
Employee must be knowledgeable in various nursing skills, including but not limited to:
- Accessing and managing ports
- Blood product administration
- Central line blood draw
- Feeding tube care and management
- Insulin management
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Isolation precautions and use of PPE
- Management of dysrhythmias
- Medical/surgical nursing
- Nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
- Oral suctioning
- Oxygen administration
- PCA administration
- Peripheral line care and management
- Phlebotomy
- PICC line management
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Telemetry monitoring—both on-unit and remote
- Tracheostomy care and management
- Use of rapid response and code teams
- Wound care and wound vac management
The unit also has interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
The register nurse will handle adult and geriatric patient age groups.
A reference is required for this position.
