Job Summary
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) Nurse - Location: Not specified. This role involves providing specialized nursing care within a neuroscience and medical-surgical unit. The position requires experienced nursing professionals to manage patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, spine surgery, seizures, brain tumors, and head injuries, focusing on trauma and neuro cases.
Job Details
- Position Description: Provides patient care on a Neuro Medical Surgical Acute unit with 54 beds, including neuroscience, stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, and head injury cases.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois license or confirmed application, BLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS certification, at least 1 year of nursing experience, experience working on a dedicated neuro unit, level 1 trauma experience, and previous travel experience (no first-time travelers).
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, minimum commitment of 36 hours per week, starting from 09/28/2026 through 01/11/2027.
- Additional Responsibilities: Titrate heparin drips based on PTT, troubleshoot high flow oxygen devices (e.g., vents, Cpap, Bipap) when needed, read telemetry strips from Phillips monitors, participate in unit-specific orientation, and float to general units as required in rotation with staff.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with heparin gtt, telemetry monitoring, and neuro or trauma units is highly valued.
- Submission Requirements: Last four digits of SSN, active Illinois license or proof of application, confirmation of understanding of clinic policies, and availability for orientation.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
