Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Oncology/Medical Surgical Telemetry – Ohio
Start Date: November 16, 2026

Schedule: Days, Nights, or rotating Day/Night shifts based on department needs; reviewed every 4-week scheduling period. Patient ratios: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) 1:3-1:4 with mixed acuity; Medical/Surgical Telemetry ideally 1:4, may be 1:5. Weekend coverage varies based on staffing needs. First week orientation Monday-Friday day shift; five bedside orientation shifts during weeks 2-3, then independent practice.

- Work within a comprehensive cancer center with 318 acute care beds and specialized 36-bed inpatient units organized by cancer diagnosis
- Float to multiple specialized oncology units including BMT, Acute Leukemia, Hematology, Medical Oncology, PCU Oncology, Gynecological Oncology, Urology, Colorectal, Surgical Oncology, and corrections healthcare
- Epic charting system with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient safety measures
- Equipment includes GE telemetry monitoring, Alaris pumps, epidurals, PCA pumps, and comprehensive critical care technologies
- Orientation includes 100 hours of structured onboarding with bedside training
Requirements:
- Minimum 2+ years of current, high-acuity Medical Surgical Telemetry experience or higher required
- Oncology experience strongly preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with patient ratios up to 1:5
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, blood product administration, central line care, chemotherapy administration and monitoring, accessing/managing ports, isolation precautions, and non-invasive airway management
- OCN and ONS/ONCC certifications preferred
- 2 professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role; charge RN acceptable for second reference
- Must be available for urgent Ohio fingerprinting process upon contract signing
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
