Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical-Surgical

Position Overview

This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a medical-surgical unit for adult and geriatric patients, including occasional bariatric cases. The position requires a commitment to patient safety and quality outcomes, with a focus on evidence-based practice and teamwork.

Shift Details

  • Shift: 1900-0700
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
  • Weekend Hours: 24

Unit Information

  • Number of Beds: 22
  • Patient Ratios: 5-6:1 on days, 6-7:1 on night shifts
  • Equipment: Telemetry
  • EHR: EPIC

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Current Registered Nurse license in Maine or a compact state.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of acute care nursing experience preferred.

Required Skills

  • ACLS and Telemetry certifications.
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage care for multiple patients effectively.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in recognizing changes in patient conditions.
  • Experience in caring for various medical and surgical diagnoses.
  • Knowledge of medications and IV therapy.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records.
