This is a night shift role consisting of three 12-hour shifts. The nurse will work with a patient ratio of 1:5-6. Weekend availability is required for two shifts every other weekend. On-call responsibilities are not required. The clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs. The facility is an acute care hospital with a total of 233 staffed beds. Charting is performed using EPIC. Familiarity with accessing and managing ports, administering chemotherapy, and interpreting dysrhythmias is essential. The unit provides care for adults, with a daily census averaging around 19 patients. All travelers will float within the service line as needed. Additional skills required include monitoring chemotherapy and starting and maintaining IVs. Isolation precautions and the use of rapid response/code teams are also part of the responsibilities. Candidates must have the ability to work with oncology patients in a Medical/Surgical setting. The nursing staff will collaborate with interdisciplinary support, including unit secretaries. This role is suitable for first-time travelers. The position is subject to a maximum of seven days of planned time off. Time off must be finalized at the time of submission. No additional time off can be requested post-submission or post-offer. A firm commitment to the contract length is required.
