Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hours, Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 2 years of MS-Tele experience; prior neuro experience preferred Description: Hiring process involves an interview with the clinical team. No unit manager involvement in the interview process. Travelers are expected to float throughout the designated zone. Each zone covers a specified radius from the city center. Travelers must obtain housing within this radius. The requirement to float applies regardless of housing location. Candidates should be available for orientation. No home base facility is assigned. Schedules are released 4 to 6 weeks in advance. There are two scheduling formats: Option A involves scheduling at a single facility for the week with possible floating within that facility. Option B involves Just-In-Time assignments communicated 1 to 2 hours before shift start. The float pool includes multiple units across various specialties. Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:6 based on acuity. Charge nurses may take assignments but this is less common on night shifts. Nursing aides are present in each unit. Required competencies include titrating drips such as heparin. Clinicians may be asked to float into various acuity levels. Appropriate dress code is flexible. Unit-specific orientation lasts 1 to 2 days with a preceptor. Weekend requirements range from 6 to 9 shifts within a 6-week schedule. May be asked to participate in holiday rotation. Cancellation policy allows for a limited number of shift cancellations. Charting system used is EPIC. Experience in managing adults and geriatric populations is expected. Diverse patient populations include cardiac, neuro, orthopedics, oncology, renal, and various post-surgical cases.
