Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Competitive salary with comprehensive benefits package – details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts with flexible scheduling reviewed every 4-week period based on department needs. Weekend shifts vary based on unit requirements. Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed.

Highlights:

  • Mixed acuity Progressive Care Unit and Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit with approximately 48 beds caring for medical oncology patients
  • High acuity patient population with variety of diagnoses from solid tumors to blood cancers
  • Oncology experience preferred but NOT required – 2 years inpatient nursing experience required
  • Professional development opportunity including optional 2-day chemotherapy training course
  • Epic charting system with GE telemetry monitoring, Alaris pumps, and standard critical care equipment
  • Target nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5, varying based on unit needs and acuity
  • 72 hours of orientation with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services

Requirements:

  • Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license)
  • Minimum 2 years of current inpatient acute care nursing experience within the last 12 months
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Medical-Surgical and Telemetry experience required
  • Proficiency with central line management, IV therapy, telemetry monitoring, and blood product administration
  • Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • 2 professional references required, including at least one from a manager or formal supervisor
  • Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • Completion of Ohio fingerprinting process required upon contract signing
