Medical Cardiology Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

This position is for a Medical Cardiology Registered Nurse specializing in telemetry with a focus on excellent patient care and monitoring. The role involves working nights and every other weekend, totaling 36 hours per week.

Unit Overview

The position is within a 24-bed Medical Cardiology unit specializing in telemetry and post-cardiac procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and manage cardiac drips.
• Provide post-cardiac care for procedures including PCI, ICD, PPM, and ablation.
• Assist with the TR Band and femoral approach patient care as required.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, focusing on a strong cardiac background.
• Experience working as a traveler is preferred.

Patient Care

The registered nurse will maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6 during the night shifts to ensure the best quality of care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license for Massachusetts.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

Skills Required

• Strong telemetry and cardiology skills.
• Ability to read telemetry strips accurately.
• Competency in managing cardiac drips.
