Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36 hours per week, rotating Day/Night schedule (every 4 weeks). Straight shifts assigned for 4 consecutive weeks before rotating to opposite shift. Every other weekend required (Friday & Saturday). Float within hospital system as needed.
Highlights:
- Specialized PCU environment serving patients with oncology diagnoses, post-surgical care, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, and other acute conditions
- Patient population includes solid tumor and hematology patients, as well as general medical-surgical admissions
- Strong cardiac monitoring focus with emphasis on telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips required
- Secure unit environment requiring specialized access protocols
- Patient ratio typically 4-5 patients per nurse
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of PCU or telemetry nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Previous telemetry experience mandatory
- Demonstrated competency in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Experience managing IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
- Valid Ohio RN license or compact state license in hand at time of application
- Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership role)
- Ability to complete urgent fingerprinting requirements for Ohio state compliance
