Experience in oncology-specific procedures such as chemotherapy administration and brachytherapy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Oncology Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients diagnosed with various cancers. Our unit specializes in treatments such as chemotherapy, clinical trials, brachytherapy, and CBI. There is a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls management. Key Responsibilities include providing direct patient care and ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. Administer chemotherapy treatments and monitor patients for adverse reactions. Participate in clinical trials and assist in data collection and documentation. Perform specialized procedures such as brachytherapy and neobladder care. Implement infection prevention protocols to ensure a safe environment. Monitor telemetry readings and interpret dysrhythmias, responding appropriately to changes in patient conditions. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and utilize rapid response teams as needed. Perform feeding tube care and management, including IV therapy and blood product administration. Utilize computerized charting systems to accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Staffing ratios aim for 1:4, but may be adjusted based on unit needs. Weekends are variable, based on unit needs, with no set or blocked scheduling requests. All candidates must have recent acute care experience in the specialty for consideration.
