Description:
This position involves working with a mixed acuity of PCU and MS patients.
The candidate may be scheduled for day, night, or a combination of both shifts based on department needs.
Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed.
Candidates should have experience with IV starts, telemetry, and tracheostomy management.
The patient-to-nurse ratio will typically be 1:5.
The nurse will manage head and neck cancers and neuro-oncology patients along with brain tumor cases.
Special procedures in this role include tracheostomy care, drain management, and a strong focus on infection prevention protocols.
Equipment used includes telemetry systems, bladder scanners, infusion pumps, and specialty beds.
Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential as there will be interdisciplinary support available.
