Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse with a specialty in Medical Oncology and Telemetry. Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations is required. The most common diagnoses include various types of solid tumors, such as breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, and esophageal cancer. The unit cares for patients throughout their cancer journey, from diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life care. There is a significant focus on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention. The ideal candidate should have experience in telemetry interpretation and monitoring. Floating to other medical-surgical oncology units may be necessary based on unit needs. Weekly weekend shifts will be variable depending on unit requirements. Previous travel experience is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in computerized charting systems, particularly Epic. Additional skills required include administration of chemotherapy, blood product administration, management of dysrhythmias, and starting and maintaining IVs. The unit utilizes special equipment, including telemetry systems, bladder scanners, and IV pumps. References from previous supervisors or managers are required for application.
