Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in MS-Tele License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS ACLS NIHSS Must-Have: 2 years of recent MS-Tele experience Prior neuro experience preferred Experience with Alaris and EPIC preferred Description: This position involves working in a float pool across multiple units. Travelers may be required to float to different facilities within a designated zone. Patients will include adults and geriatrics with various diagnoses including cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, and renal conditions. Nurse-patient ratios will be around 1:5-6 based on acuity. RNs are expected to monitor telemetry and read strips. Designated charge nurses are present on each unit but typically will not take patient assignments unless necessary. Shifts are scheduled by leadership six weeks in advance, requiring flexibility. Weekend shifts range from 6-9 shifts in a six-week schedule. Nurses may be asked to help fill gaps in permanent scheduling as needed. Travelers are responsible for obtaining housing within a 60-mile radius of the assigned zone. Mandatory floating within the zone applies regardless of housing location. All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting the assignment. Nurses may be called in for holiday shifts depending on the rotation. Cancellation of shifts by the facility may occur under certain conditions. Charting system utilized is EPIC. RNs may be required to titrate certain drips such as heparin.
