Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BCLS required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred Experience with patient ratios of 6-7:1 Description: This position involves working in a medical-surgical and telemetry setting. The average daily census is around 30 patients. The unit consists of 61 beds. Common patient diagnoses include orthopedic issues, chest pain, pneumonia, cellulitis, and transient ischemic attacks (TIA). Some general surgical patients are also treated in this unit. Neuro patients are transferred to a different unit. Occasional pediatric patients may be encountered, but travelers will not be assigned to them. Nursing staff are expected to provide support for lifts and continuous passive motion (CPM) for knees. The nurse-to-patient ratio is generally 1:6-7. Travelers may float within the service line as per facility needs. Weekends are required every other week. Compliance with all facility policies and requirements is essential. The facility does not require the COVID-19 vaccination, but the flu vaccination is mandatory with exemptions for medical or religious reasons. All shifts and requirements must be fulfilled as agreed upon in the contract. Working collaboratively with the healthcare team is crucial for patient care.
