This role involves a rotating schedule every four weeks between day and night shifts. The nurse will be expected to care for adult and geriatric patients. Responsibilities include managing patient care for various general medical issues. The nurse will need to interpret dysrhythmias and manage isolation precautions. Candidates should be proficient in starting and maintaining IVs and managing peripheral lines. Experience with chest tube management and substance withdrawal is also required. Daily patient ratios will average four patients per nurse across shifts. The unit is supported by various interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy and pharmacy. Patients may present with a range of diagnoses including opioid abuse and behavioral issues. Special procedures performed may include IV antibiotics, chest tubes, and paracentesis at bedside. Candidates must be aware of the urgency of the credentialing process and complete necessary requirements promptly. Two professional references are required, with at least one from a supervisory position. Former employees may apply after a six-month absence from the facility. Current employees are not eligible for traveler positions.
