Job Title: PCU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MS/Tele Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience required. License: Not specified. Certifications: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS preferred. Must-Have: - Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs. - Experience managing cardiac drips and heparin protocols. - Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias. - Experience with feeding tube care and hemodialysis management. - Knowledge of isolation precautions, wound care, and emergency response. - Strong assessment skills for a wide variety of adult and geriatric patient diagnoses. - Ability to work 8 weekend shifts over a 6-week schedule period, including a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts. Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit. The clinician will be responsible for providing care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions. Patient ratios are typically 1:5 on this unit. Responsibilities include monitoring telemetry patients and managing cardiac dysrhythmias. The clinician must administer medications, including managing cardiac drips without titration. Candidates should be familiar with high-flow nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management. Experience in pre and post-operative care for neurosurgery and other complex medical procedures is required. Nurses will be expected to follow infection control protocols and perform wound care as needed. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is essential for providing comprehensive patient care. Professionalism and a commitment to patient safety are mandatory in this role. Regular floating may be required between departments and units to meet patient care needs. Candidates are expected to fulfill their contracted hours, including holiday shifts as required by unit needs.
