The shift duration is 12 hours, specifically at night. The role requires 1 year of experience in a medical specialty or telemetry unit. Registered Nurses must possess current BLS and NIHSS certifications. Telemetry skills and the ability to titrate cardiac drips are essential. The nurse will care for post-cath patients. The staffing ratio is 1 nurse to 5 patients. Weekend shifts are required, with a total of 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling period. Candidates should be prepared to float between units and departments as necessary. There are opportunities for holiday shifts and charge nurse assignments as needed. The facility has 240 total staffed beds, including a 16-bed ICU. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. The daily census averages around 30 patients, with a total of 33 rooms and beds in the unit. Interdisciplinary support is available, including teams for IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. The unit sees a variety of patient diagnoses, including post-surgical cases and heart failure. The nurse will be responsible for managing various medical equipment and procedures relevant to patient care. Compliance with training and module completion is expected prior to the start of the assignment.
